Costs & Rebate Info
Costs: Although many factors effect cost, an average PV system currently costs from $8 to $10 a watt, including installation. This means for a 3,000 watt or 3KW system, one could expect to pay anywhere from $24,000 to $30,000 before rebates.
Rebates: Currently the California Energy Commission is offering cash rebates at $1.90 a watt. This means that for a 3KW PV system, one would receive a $5,700 rebate to offset the cost of the system.
Investment Tax Credit (ITC): At the moment the Federal Government is giving a 30% Investment Tax Credit (ITC). This is capped at $2,000 for residential applications.
